Bishop Javier Echevarría Rodríguez, the Prelate of Opus Dei, died December 12 in Rome, He was born in Madrid in 1932a nd was ordained a priest in 1955, at the age of 23.
He served as St. Josemaria Escriva a secretary from 1953 to 1975
He was later named secretary general of Opus Dei, and was elected prelate in 1994 and was consecrated a bishop in 1996.
