Commentaries

Why do some of us spell antisemitism without the hyphen and capital S?  There really is no such thing as "Semitism".  The word was invented by those who shifted from the traditional teaching of contempt against Jews and Judaism to racial antisemitism (parallel to the racism in this country which "justified" slavery).  "Semitic" does not refer to a race, but only to those who speak a semitic language, e.g. Arabic, Hebrew, Aramaic, etc.
